Basically, you draw out your deck. The Bills, Oaks, the Computer Search, and the Poké Balls are so that you can get the cards you need quickly. The Alakazam allows you to rearrange damage so that your Pokémon don't instantly die (duh). Big Pokémon are for all that extra damage. And all the extra energy is so that you'll never run out.
