Printing The Cards

So now that you're done with making your cards, you'd like to print them, is that correct? Well, here's how to print them effectively.

First off, the cards you make are twice the size of a real card (5 inches by 7 inches). This means you'll have to shrink the card down by 50% to make them the size of real cards.

Important Note!: Don't shrink them in the graphic program you're using! That'll just blur your cards up. Instead, go into something like AppleWorks or Microsoft Works, shrink them there, and then print them out from that program. Shrinking them in AppleWorks or MS Works will make them card size, while still retaining their detail (so they won't be so blurry).

If you want to print them on some really good paper rather than on the regular paper, I suggest you get some high quality paper for your printer. For my ink jet printer, I use "EPSON Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper". It's about $20 for 100 sheets. Quite expensive, but if you're into printing cards (like I know I am), then it's worth it. But if you're just a regular user, then regular paper is good enough.

Also for you more advanced people, the bigger you make the card, the more detail you'll be able to capture when you print out your cards. If you increase the size of your card yo like 800% or 1000% in Adobe Photoshop, turn off the text anti-aliasing, and then printed them out in Apple/MS Works, then more detail with be kept in the card. Keen, huh?

Well, that just around rounds up the Make Your Own Pokémon Card section. I hope I've helped you make some high quality fake cards! If you want to go back to the main MYOPC page, click here:
